Hannam Info Center Art Talk
Sep 7, 11:00 am - 11:45 am
294 Itaewon-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea
Seol Won-ki, born in Seoul in 1951, graduated from the University of Beloit and received a master's degree in art from Pratt Institute. He has been active in the U.S. and Korea and is currently a professor at the Korea National University of Arts and the head of the Korea Institute for Arts and Gifted Arts. Seol Won-ki’s spontaneity and expressive forms of language in demonstrating his artistic persona are highlighted not only through his paintings and drawings that portray landscapes all over the globe but also through photography that translates the artist’s inner dialogue. The artist selects his landscapes as places he has traveled or experienced, and Seol’s implementation of wild brushstrokes and plastic paper transitions his work into an entirely new perspective.
