'Monad Printmaking' the third artist, JIYASOL
'Monad Printmaking', which PAGEROOM8 presents in 2023, is a project that introduces four artists—Kim Gaseul, Ilkwon Yoon, JIYASOL, and Han Jimin—who construct a world of art through the introduction of print- making techniques and concepts into their work in separate exhibitions. Various printmaking techniques, such as copperplate printing (Kim Gaseul), lithography (JIYASOL) and linocuts (Han Jimin), as well as a three-dimensional installation (Ilkwon Yoon) that incorporates printmaking, will be presented. Furthermore, the diversity derived from the public is evident, such as design, video, performance, and picture book realized by one artist.
Like the philosophical term ‘monad,’ which is the ultimate simple and indivisible entity, this project intends to portray printmaking as a complete visual art, not a byproduct of other genres.
