Since his first solo exhibition at Seoul Myeongdong Gallery in 1973, Lee Kang-So celebrates his 50th anniversary with the opening of “The Wind Blows (About the Sculpture)”, the inaugural exhibition of Leeahn Seoul since its expansion. The show will be centering around Lee’s ceramic sculptures, inviting the audience to his extensive sculptural oeuvre. Lee, who continuously pursued experimental art ranging from performace, installation, and paintings, starting from the early 1970s when Korean modern art bloomed, explores an original method to form sculptures by disclosing the raw materiality of soil. Viewers will experience the ripples in the soil as if they were feeling a breeze, as the particles themselves connect and form the final shape.
