JiWon Yang

Majored in Sculpture and Sound Installation in France and Austria, Ji-won Yang explores the relationship between drawing, writing, language, and sound. And as letters morph in formative and linguistic ways, she discovers areas of images that do not belong to either writing or drawing, and explores the various contexts of those images. Recently, she has been working on drawings, expecting multi-layered results through such means.

Yang has held solo exhibitions - Atmosphere (Cha Studio, Incheon, 2021), Moeum (SeMA Storage, Seoul, 2019), Tower, Seed, Floral Arrangement (Cheongju Art Studio, Cheongju, 2017), and participated in many group exhibitions including Mass (Seoul Art Space Geumcheon, Seoul, 2023), Unboxing Project-Today (New spring project, Seoul, 2022), Everything I Want to Do Is Nonproductive (Incheon Art Platform, Incheon, 2021), Your Platform, Your Park: Beyond Flat (Incheon Art Platform, Incheon, 2021). Yang was invited to SeMA Emerging Artists & Curators Supporting Program and participated in residency programs including Cheongju Art Studio (Choengju, 2016), Incheon Art Platform (Incheon, 2020-2021), Seoul Art Space Geumcheon (Seoul, 2022).
